Join Spread the Word’s Eva Lewin and Annette Brook on our regular taster workshop – for those of you who are new to creative writing and want to try it out for the first time.
Get a taste of the essentials of writing and how workshops work.
Through exercises, reading and discussion, you will explore ways of writing that bring a story alive in the readers’ mind, approaches to creating characters and writing arresting dialogue. In a small group, in a relaxed but focused setting, you will have plenty of opportunity to ask questions, get to know fellow participants, and get writing.

Eva Lewin is Writer Development Manager at Spread the Word. She has worked in London’s literature sector since 1995, is a trained professional development planning guide, and she writes short fiction. Friendly, approachable and an industry expert, over the years Eva has helped hundreds of writers find their way forward.
Annette Brook is the Audience Development Officer at Spread the Word. She writes plays and has completed the Royal Court’s Young Writers Programme. Annette has a passion for theatre and writing, and especially for opening up access to different forms for writers. Annette drives Spread the Word’s new Gatekeepers series, and has been teaching the Write Start course for several years.
