Young People’s Laureate for London Caleb Femi has written a poem, The Story We All Know, to mark National Poetry Day on Thursday 28 September and the official launch of the Young People’s Laureate for London Tour, which takes place between 24 – 28 October 2017. Check it out in the fully captioned film, directed by Abu B. Yillah:
Taking place in five libraries in outer London boroughs in October 2017; Barking and Dagenham, Bexley, Croydon, Merton and Newham, the tour offers 13 – 25 year olds opportunities to take part in free workshops around:
- writing poetry
- performing poetry
- organising poetry & cultural events
Each library is offering free workshops and a free event in the evening featuring Caleb Femi, and aspiring young poets. If you’re aged between 13-25 and want to perform alongside Caleb Femi in each event’s open mic slot, sign up to the workshops!
Anyone of any age is welcome to come along to the performances for free.
If you or someone you know are aged 13 -25 and have even a slight interest in poetry and making things happen, get involved!
