1. Why is the majority of your work only for writers in London?
Spread the Word is funded by Arts Council England to support writers in London.
There are writer development organisations similar to Spread the Word working across the UK. You may want to see what they can offer you:

2. Will you read my work and give me feedback?
We are a small team and we can’t read work to provide feedback to everyone that asks. We run Free Reads once a year with The Literary Consultancy to provide talented emerging writers with free editorial reads of their work. We offer 1-2-1s for fiction writers and poets – the dates are posted in Workshops and Events.
3. Will you give me funding?
Unless you are applying to one of our targeted programmes that involves funding, we are unable to support any unsolicited requests for funding. Our London Writers Network events and newsletter are a great resource to find out about funding opportunities open to writers.

6. Will you review my book?
We are not a reviewing outlet – we don’t have the capacity! If you would like to be considered to be featured in an interview, or by writing a (paid) thought-piece for us, please email Laura Kenwright, Communications and Projects Manager Laura@spreadtheword.org.uk. We consider requests for features and interviews on a case-by-case basis in line with our mission, vision and values and team capacity.
7. Will you promote my event / opportunity / workshop / project?
We try to promote as many opportunities that will benefit writers in London in line with our mission, vision and values as possible via our social media channels and newsletter. Email Aliya@spreadtheword.org.uk if you have something you’d like us to consider promoting.

Signing up to our newsletter is the best way to find out what we’re up to.
Join our London Writers Network for £25 a year, for quarterly comprehensive mailings with opportunities to get your writing out into the world.

You can book online on our workshops and events page. Or, if you would prefer to book on the phone, you can call us on 020 8692 0231 ext 249 Monday – Friday 10am – 5pm.
