Read the Mouth Mek Fi Nyam Anthology

Anthology

Bold title text in green and yellow, sitting at the top of a black background, reads: “Mouth Mek Fi Nyam: An Anthology by Caribbean Elders”. Below, a photograph fills most of the cover, depicting a bustling Caribbean street market with vendors and shoppers standing among piles of bananas, coconuts, and root vegetables under bright umbrellas in blue, green, yellow, and red. A black footer contains the editors’ names and supporting organisations in white text, as well as their logos. Text reads: "Edited by Courtney Conrad and Keith Jarrett. Supported by Spread the Word and Near Neighbours.”

Mouth Mek Fi Nyam is a project which celebrates the voices and stories of Caribbean elders. Over the course of four months, the elders participated in ten poetry workshops with award-winning poets Courtney Conrad and Keith Jarrett, three short story workshops with award-winning writer Leone Ross, an oral history workshop with Leone and Joan Anim-Addo and two gardening workshops with Coco Collective.

A special thank you to Near Neighbours, Catford Library, Hummingbird Social Club, Courtney Conrad, Keith Jarrett, Joan Anim-Addo, Leone Ross, Joladé Olusanya, Deepthi Muralibabu, Honey’s Caribbean Takeaway and most importantly, the elders involved.
